AR Enhanced Tours

Launched in May 2024, the Augmented Reality tour option allows the tour guest to meet virtually some of the historical characters that are covered on these tours, especially the Blue Plaques of the Maiden City Tour, while still enjoying the normal experience of a guided walking tour – these are enhanced experiences.

Using free software installed on your phone or device, you scan a marker (similar to a QR code) and this downloads the character onto your device and they appear as if they are standing in the location of the marker. You will need a 4G enabled device or phone and for the best experience headphones should be used to drown out traffic noise and hear the characters clearly.

Guests also have the opportunity to get photos taken with the characters and hear them speaking in their own words.

For customers who do not have suitable devices, tablets can be provided with videos of the characters already pre-loaded.Please request these in advance.
